Acrylic color coatings for tennis, pickleball and basketball courts are weather-sensitive and require proper conditions for a successful installation. As a general guideline, both air and surface temperatures should be at least 50°F and rising during application. Dry weather is also essential, as rain, high humidity, cool temperatures and overnight dew can affect drying and curing times. For best results, installations are scheduled during a suitable weather window with enough time for each coating to properly dry before temperatures drop or moisture develops.Because weather conditions can change quickly, particularly in the spring and fall, installation schedules may be adjusted to ensure the quality and longevity of the finished surface.
Poured-in-place rubber surfacing is weather-sensitive and requires appropriate temperature and moisture conditions for proper installation and curing. While specific requirements vary by manufacturer and material system, temperatures of approximately 50°F and above with dry, stable weather conditions are preferred for installation. Cooler temperatures can significantly increase curing time, while rain, excessive moisture and extreme temperatures can affect the installation process.Weather conditions are carefully monitored before and during installation to help ensure proper bonding, curing and long-term performance of the surface. Installation schedules may be adjusted when necessary to provide the best possible finished product.

Acrylic court coatings are applied by hand using specialized rubber squeegees. Because of this application process, slight squeegee marks, shading or variations in texture may sometimes be visible, particularly on newly finished courts or under certain lighting conditions. These variations are a normal characteristic of acrylic sport surfaces and typically become less noticeable as the surface cures and experiences regular use and weathering. They generally do not affect the performance, durability or playability of the court. For additional information, please refer to the attached manufacturer’s technical cut sheet/specification, which provides further guidance regarding the application process and the appearance characteristics of acrylic sport surfaces.
Ambering is a temporary yellow or brown tint that may sometimes appear on newly installed poured-in-place rubber surfacing. It is a natural reaction that can occur when certain polyurethane binders are exposed to sunlight and is often more noticeable on lighter-colored rubber.Ambering is cosmetic and does not affect the safety, performance or durability of the surface. In most cases, the discoloration will gradually fade with continued exposure to sunlight and normal weathering. To help minimize ambering, proper materials and installation methods should be selected based on the colors and design of the surface. For projects where maintaining the original color is especially important, a UV-stable binder may be recommended.
